Counselling

10-tiny1. Assessments:

Assessments of individuals of all ages, including adolescents, who think that they may have a problem with chemicals or associated problematic behaviors. Assessment of those who know that they are addicted and are seeking treatment options as well as assessment of underlying psychiatric disorders and hence referrals to appropriate practitioners for collaborative, qualitative, psychological, physical and emotional care.

2. Treatment:

This includes comprehensive practice with individuals who suffer from chemical addictions, codependency, eating disorders, gaming addictions and other process addictions. The aim when working with individuals is to facilitate their recovery by helping them accept and manage their illness rather than to deny and fight it. This teaches the individual to manage their problems and therefore, becomes an empowering experience in spite of the shame. My current clinical practice also includes working with co-morbidity (dual disorders) as well as people and families who suffer from various struggles intra-and-interpersonally.

3. Family:

Assisting families to get the necessary help/treatment that is needed for the using/abusing or addicted family member as well as working with family members in their own co-dependent processes and /or with adult-child issues that they are experiencing.

4. Supervision:

This is a service offered to other health professionals working in the field of addiction.
