‘Nurturing the Inner child’

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy;
  • Multi-Systemic Therapy when working with adolescents;
  • Dialectical Behavioural Therapy;
  • Treatment designed for specific target groups using an eclectic approach depending on the individual’s needs:
    • bereavement and loss;
    • needs;
    • mid-life transitions /existential dilemma’s;
    • identity issues;
    • abusive relationships;
    • anxiety and mood disorders which includes bipolar affective disorder;
    • depressive disorders and anxiety disorders;
    • behavioural difficulties;
    • addiction and co-occurring illnesses (co-morbid/ dual diagnosis/ dual disorders).

I aim to help the person:

  • Enhance the ability to have healthy relationships;
  • Find balance, direction and freedom from self-defeating behaviour;
  • Improve communication;
  • Enhance family functioning;
  • Recovery from addictive processes within the 12 Step paradigm;
  • Facilitate making sense of ‘no sense’;
  • Diminish occurrence and resolution of crisis and conflict.

My sagacious 12 year son old ponders and reflects about problem solving:

“There are 4 pillars to include in problem-solving: dedication to the truth; a balance in all realms of your life; accepting responsibility and delaying immediate gratification – devoting oneself to a specific problem in a disciplined manner and resolving it with the best possible outcome”.
